Missions Sunday Campaign

Designing the interior of a themed
train installation

Project type: Client Work · Event Design
Role: Graphic Designer
Tools: Adobe Photoshop · Adobe Illustrator

The Problem

The client needed to design the interior of a physical train installation that told a story. Over two weeks, two trains would each represent a different dimension of mission work — one reflecting international stories, the other local Singaporean ones.

The Process

Brainstorming — Collaborated with the client to map out every interior element needed, including how to repurpose familiar PSA-style stickers with new copy to serve the storytelling.

Reference Boards — Built detailed references to accurately emulate two distinct train interiors: the Singaporean MRT and a train representative of other countries.

Content Fitting — Translated client-provided copy into visual elements distributed across the train interior. This included producing mockups for approval and working directly with the physical installation vendor to obtain accurate measurements and ensure every sticker element fit the build precisely.

The Solution

Each train was designed to feel native to its context. The local train mirrored the familiar visual language of the Singaporean MRT — recognisable fixtures, signage style, and layout — with mission stories slotted in where public notices would normally live. The international train took the opposite approach: raw, unpolished, layered with graffiti and handwritten notes to reflect the texture of mission work beyond Singapore's borders.

The Outcome

The installation ran across two church centres over two weeks, with peak footfall on Sundays. Both trains drew strong engagement where visitors walked through, read the displays, and stopped to take photos. Designs were approved with minimal revisions and executed accurately to the physical build spec.
